Title III
Federal funding that strengthens historically Black colleges and universities, and that pays for a large part of what EDAC does.
What it is
Morgan State University's Title III program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is a federal initiative aimed at strengthening historically Black colleges and universities and other minority-serving institutions. It distributes grants to improve academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability.
What EDAC does with it
EDAC uses Title III funding to build out its entrepreneurial work. That covers one-on-one business counseling, workshops, and specialized training, and it pays for the conferences and podcasts that reach students and community entrepreneurs across Baltimore.
EDAC objectives are aligned with Morgan State University's 6 strategic goals.
Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program
The Department of Defense runs the oldest continuously operating federal mentor-protégé program in existence. It began during the first Gulf War and helps eligible small businesses grow inside the defense industrial base by pairing them with established firms.
