During the month of December 2012, students from Overlea and Carver High Schools learned the basics of operating a business during EDAC's Entrepreneur's Go to School Tour. The focus of the tour was to introduce students to entrepreneurship and Morgan State University. Students were divided into teams to create a business based on an idea that they had. Omar Muhammad gave the companies scenarios based on news headlines and experiences that entrepreneurs face in real life. Each team's business was impacted based on the decisions that the students made. Some of the teams had positive net income while others fell into the red. The goal was to allow the students to think about how news stories and events impact companies. The students enjoyed the exercise and expressed interested in learning more about entrepreneurship. The EDAC team will work with the schools to create in school entrepreneurial clubs.
